“Meet me in St. Louis, Louis!” For some reason, that song, written for the 1904 Louisiana Purchase Exposition (aka the St. Louis World’s Fair), keeps going through my mind as I write this invitation to you to attend our 88th Annual Meeting, which will be held February 20-24, 2019 at the St. Louis Union Station Hilton Hotel. This year’s conference will focus on the theme of diversity and inclusion in the music library, a most timely topic and one that I think all attendees will find of great value.
Of course, it takes many people to put on a conference like this. My thanks go to Program Committee Chair Anne Shelley and her team for putting together a wonderful program; to our diligent Convention Managers Wendy Sistrunk and Andrew Justice, for all their work preparing for our arrival; to Katie Buehner, our irrepressible Web Manager, for organizing the conference website; and our business office at A-R Editions, led by Jim Zychowicz, for their work in getting us all registered.
Most of all, I thank all of you who have so generously given your effort and time preparing presentations and planning committee meetings, and to our corporate patrons and sponsors for their generous support.
I can’t wait to meet you in St. Louis!
