Registration for the 93rd annual meeting of the Music Library Association at the Hilton Cincinnati Netherland Plaza (February 28 – March 2, 2024)  is now open

MLA is accepting donations to help provide financial relief for current MLA members in the form of covering conference registration costs. For more information, and to donate, please see the General Conference Registration Fund.

If you would like to cover a specific MLA member’s conference registration, before registering or donating, please see MLA’s instructions for how to provide funds privately to offset a conference registration for a specific MLA member (Word doc).

To begin : If you do not have it already, you will need a MLA website account to register for the conference. NO fee is required to join MLA as a Non-member. To create an account:

1. Go to https://www.musiclibraryassoc.org/page/JoinMLA

2. Select “Join MLA Now”

3. Select “Non-member” and press the “Continue” button

4. Create a Username and fill out your name

5. Fill out the required information fields and select “Submit”

6. Scroll through the Membership Dues area (check the required boxes) and click “Submit Securely”

7. Joining MLA as a Non-member requires approval. Once you have been approved, you can proceed.

Once you have a MLA site account :

1. Go to https://www.musiclibraryassoc.org/events/register.aspx?id=1788382

2. Sign in. If your account is expired, email mla@areditions.com to request a reset. MLA will respond to your request within about 24 hours, and no fee will be charged. (The MLA Business Office is open Monday through Friday.)

3. Fill out the “Attendee Info” section, then continue to “Attendee Selections.”

4. Submit your payment securely.

IMPORTANT : Once you submit payment, if you need to change anything please email the Business Office at mla@areditions.com before taking any other action.

The Music Library Association uses a number of software applications to ensure the best possible conference experience. Conference attendees may wish to review the needed applications and their privacy policies before choosing to register: Privacy Policy.

 

Are you interested in attending the Annual Conference at a reduced rate?

The Reduced Registration Program provides that opportunity to qualified members of the Music Library Association planning to attend the Annual Conference in-person. Participants will work for a total of five (5) hours on one or more assigned jobs during the three and one half (3.5) days of the conference. Possible jobs could include assisting at the Registration Desk, assisting the Convention Managers, assisting the MLA Big Band, and/or providing technology-adjacent help which may include Q&A moderation for both online and in-person sessions.

Who is Qualified for Reduced Registration?

  • You must be an Individual Member of MLA in good standing within the first five years of your membership, OR,
  • a first-time attendee to a national MLA meeting (of any category and length of membership).
  • New for 2024! Student-members of MLA in good standing. Seven students who participate will receive gratis conference registration for attending in-person in exchange for 5 hours of volunteer service as outlined in the Reduced Registration Program.

Members who are applying for the Reduced Registration Program for the first time receive first consideration for the positions. However, members who have already participated in the Program in past years are still encouraged to apply, and any slots still open after the deadline date will be offered to them.

In addition to the discount, this program is a great way to learn more about MLA and to meet members from across the organization.

The MLA Conference Mentoring Program offers opportunities for first-time attendees to be matched with mentors who will answer questions about the structure of MLA, the purposes of the conference, and how these purposes are carried out in various forums.  Mentors and mentees may attend a session, interest groups, poster sessions and/or exhibits together. Other opportunities for interacting include meeting up for coffee or a meal and introducing newcomers to people at the conference.

All are welcome at open meetings – pre- and post-conference Committee and Interest Group meetings, Chapter Meetings, and Town Halls – regardless of paid conference registration.

For access to open meetings only, sign up using Cvent’s registration form. If you later register for the full conference, we’ll work with MLA’s Business Office to make sure you have the correct access to program sessions.
